Dr. Leavey grew up in Hawaii and then lived in Oregon and Arizona before settling in Massachusetts. She worked as a veterinary technician for 6 years before obtaining her veterinary degree from Tufts University in 2009. She enjoys medicine and treating her animal patients, but even more important to her is building a relationship with her patients and their people. Her particular interest in maintaining comfort in senior pets inspired her to complete a certification course in acupuncture in 2019. Dr. Leavey lives in Hopkinton with her husband, two teenage children and a selection of pets including her two lab mixes, Asher and Quill, two cats, Pickett and Din Grogu, a rabbit and fish. Her family loves to travel and is working on a goal of seeing all 50 states, all 63 US national parks and as many countries possible.
